No network interfaces in unix??
Is the TCP/IP stack compiled in the kernel. If you aren't even seeing the loopback interface (lo0 - 127.0.0.1) then the answer is likely no. Otherwise your NIC isn't getting reconized, which might mean it is loose (card needs re-seating) or has gone bad.
Reply:Its possible that your unix distribution doesn't include drivers out of the box for the network cards you have.
