can you tell me how to find ip address in linux and unix. and also chat between computers using them.
UNIX codes?
ip address? if you know the hostname use "nslookup hostname.com"
if they are connecting to you, or attempting to do so, check your "netstat" output
if you want to chat in between computers, you can use 'ytalk' if it is installed. I dont think "ytalkd" is installed by default anymore. if you are both running local smtps you can just:
"echo "your message here" | mail root@ipaddress"
