Which four year school offers UNIX as a major/minor? I am trying to find a school, but everything that I find is a two year school. Thanks.

A four year school is not likely to offer a degree in a specific language or platform. What you can do is choose a four year program in computer science or engineering and then study that platform.

Ex. - When I got my masters in engineering, I specifically chose a track in software engineering. I further narrowed that focus into system design and implementation. The same principle applies to a B.A. or B.S. - You don't, for example, get a degree in international marketing, you get a degree in business with a focus in international marketing.

Hope that helps.
Reply:UNIX really isn't something you'd major in. Normally you'd learn to use UNIX as part of a program for system administration/IT, or programming. Just make sure they include some form of UNIX (Linux, SunOS, etc.) in the classes.

Also, nothing beats self-study. If you have an old PC lying around, download RedHat Linux for free and install it. If you buy one of those 'teach yourself Linux' books, many of them include a version of Linux as well.
