On unix machine if my TTY is pts/2.. what does that mean? why it belong to that group?

On unix machine if my TTY is pts/2.. what does that mean? why it belong to that group?

TTY is just short for teletypewriter. It is just a way of showing what your access point is. If you log in you may be pts/2, then you open another session and that one will be on pts/3....
Reply:its just your terminal connection, its like that because your already logged in, you can have tons of terminal connections, nothin to worry about
